EDITING, SEQUENCING AND PORTFOLIO REVIEW

This workshop is aimed at photographers or photojournalists that want to develop and/or improve their editing and storytelling tools for photographic stories.

Maximum: 12 participants

Theoretical-Practical

Duration: 1 Day

If you have a complete, or near complete story/project, this may suit you best. Together will not only narrow down your images to a presentation format (seldom you find people willing to look at more than 20-30 photographs on a story) but also will help you with the sequencing, which helps your story’s coherence.

As a prerequisite for this workshop, you will need to bring along a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 150 photographs. The photographs are to be printed in small prints (e.g. 4R size) and you will need to bring the original jpg files as well. The end result will be a main edit of your work that will be ideal for your portfolio, project or exhibition.

I will take participants through the edit as well as explaining the reasons why each picture is chosen and the order presented. This will not only showcase your very best images, but it will also show your work as a story teller.

In addition, participants will receive an in-depth assessment of their project or photography and I will provide an overview of storytelling approaches while engaging participants in discussion about the most appropriate ways to create a story and through personal examples of projects.

I will share tips and techniques to improve reporting.

- On this workshop there is no picture taking -
